Hello,
I just found your really cool app I really hope can use it to help myself learn mandarin. There is no good alternative to study youtube videos with dual subtitles on iphone and ipad. I really like how the app is minimal, user friendly and affordable, unlike Language player for instance.
The problems i had :
1) the ipad screen i use horizontally doesn’t fit with the app’s presentation (only works well in portrait mode but I don’t really like this). So the lower panel with subtitles is barely visible
2) I tried to watch the last video of youtube podcast dashu chinese (how to speak chinese fast). For some reason the main subtitle on youtube for Chinese is in traditional characters, and simplified has another name. So on the app I’m stuck to watch the video with traditional chracters, even though my settings show simplified (I live in PRC). I think that’s « normal » you cannot really predict how youtubers label their languages.
So it would be really important for users of langtube to be able to switch between all available subtitles (incl. automated) if such a problem happens).
If you need some help testing on ipad and ios, I am happy to help. I have been used to beta test apps (Steinberg Dorico for 7 years, Anki punctually on iOS) and webapps (Mylingua) for many years, and am myself a developer.
All the best
Julien
